1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file stored on your device by a website. Similar technologies can include local storage, pixels, SDKs or identifiers that remember information or help a service understand how it is used.
2. The rules we follow
In the UK, cookies and similar technologies are mainly governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) together with UK data-protection law. Where consent is required it must be freely given, specific, informed and unambiguous. Simply continuing to browse is not treated as consent to non-essential cookies.
3. Cookie categories
| Category | What it is used for | Consent? |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | Security, sessions, authentication, checkout integrity, CSRF protection, load/security controls and remembering your cookie preference. | Normally not required where the technology is genuinely necessary for the service you requested. |
| Functional | Optional features such as third-party live chat, enhanced preferences or convenience features not strictly required for the core service. | Yes, where PECR requires consent. |
| Analytics | Understanding visits, page performance, navigation and aggregated usage so we can improve the service. | Yes unless a specific legal exemption clearly applies. |
| Marketing | Advertising measurement, audience building, remarketing or cross-site advertising functions. | Yes. |
4. Necessary technologies used by GiveawaysZone
The service may use session and security cookies to keep you signed in, protect forms, preserve checkout state, hold competition reservations, prevent fraud and remember your privacy choice. Removing necessary cookies can stop account, cart, checkout or security functions from working properly.
5. Optional services and third parties
Optional providers can change as the site configuration changes. Examples may include live chat, analytics or marketing integrations. We will not treat the presence of an integration in the admin panel as permission to activate it before consent where consent is required. A provider may set its own cookies after you enable the relevant category.
6. How long cookies last
Some cookies last only for the current browser session. Persistent cookies remain for a defined period or until you delete them. Our cookie-preference record may be retained for a reasonable period so that we do not repeatedly ask the same question, but we may request consent again when the purposes or technologies materially change.
7. Change or withdraw your consent
You can change optional cookie choices at any time. Withdrawing consent should be as easy as giving it. It will not make earlier lawful processing unlawful, but optional technologies should stop being activated on future page loads after your preference is updated.
8. Browser controls
You can also delete or block cookies through your browser. Browser-level blocking can affect strictly necessary functions, so the on-site cookie settings are normally the better way to control optional categories.
9. Do Not Track and similar signals
Browser privacy signals are evolving and are not implemented consistently across services. Where a legally binding browser signal applies to our processing, we will respect it. Our primary control remains the consent manager shown on this website.
10. Updates
We review this policy and the consent configuration when providers, purposes or law change. A material new non-essential purpose will not be silently added to an old consent.
11. Privacy questions
